We have that Friday feeling and that means a roundup of this weeks beauty news and industry shenanigans.
ALDI launch Vegan Beauty Range
Lacura by Aldi reminiscent in our eyes of quite a few luxury skincare and makeup brands is bringing us vegan beauty in the form of an eye cream, sheet masks, day cream and eye cream to name a few.
Whenever Aldi launches new beauty goodies they're guaranteed to fly off the shelves, so we’re sure the supermarket’s first vegan skincare range won’t be around for long.
The nine product cruelty-free collection, which includes sheet masks, day cream and eye cream launches today, with every item made from 100 per cent natural ingredients and priced between £1.99 and £5.99.
Much of the range includes coconut oil, so acne sufferers should steer clear (coconut oil is comedogenic and can irritate acne or rosacea) but if you've got dry skin, go right ahead as coconut oil benefits this skin type most thanks to its nourishing properties.

Huda Beauty is coming to UK Boots Stores
The beauty brand of Instagram sensation Huda Kattan has landed a bricks-and-mortar deal with UK-based retailer Boots.
Today, customers in the UK can shop the billion-dollar beauty brand from Harvey Nichols stores in Liverpool, Edinburgh, Bristol and Leeds.
Meanwhile, last month the brand opened its first-ever UK, pop-up in Covent Garden, London, to celebrate the launch of its 18-shade Mercury Retrograde Palette.
“We’re super excited to be launching Huda Beauty in Boots,” said Kattan. “Boots are an incredible retailer and we are so thankful to them for their support and belief in our brand and vision.
“Our global expansion has been very quick, and to now be partnering with Boots to bring Huda Beauty to the high street is both humbling and mind-blowing.”
The announcement comes after Boots took the decision in 2019 to revamp 60 of its retail outlets across the UK, replacing traditional beauty counters with ‘trend zones’.
Joanna Rogers, Trading Director and VP of Beauty at Boots, said: “2020 will be another big year for Boots beauty and what better way to start the year than with the beauty phenomenon Huda Kattan bringing Huda Beauty to Boots.”
This is not the first time Boots has stocked beauty brands of famous faces.
Singer Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty is available in the high street store, as well as Milly Bobby Brown’s Florence By Mills.
According to Rogers, the beauty brand of supermodel and Kardashian sister Kendall Jenner, Moon Oral Care, will also be joining the retailer’s line-up in the spring.
Very.co.uk has just added 1300 or so new beauty products to its pages (that's huge)
Very.co.uk has strengthened its position as a go-to beauty retailer in the UK by inking deals with 50 new beauty brands.
Joining the retailer’s beauty offering are product lines from Elemis, Ren Skincare, Cowshed, This Works and Iconic London, as well as Montblanc and Coach in the fragrance category.
According to the brand, its beauty and fragrance sales have increased by almost 80% in the last four years.
”Our unique position of great brands and flexible ways to pay helps customers to trade up online,” said Jeremy Stevens, Category Director, Developing Categories at The Very Group.
“This creates a real growth opportunity for the beauty market online by opening up a whole new customer base for our brand partners.
“We're seeing a fantastic response to the beauty and fragrance brands that have already launched on Very.co.uk but we know our customers and broader target market want even better access to premium beauty brands.”
Across the 50 new brands, Very.co.uk customers will have access to 1,320 new product lines.
